Edward Parry was born in Newry, County Down, and was educated at Trinity College, Dublin. In 1638 he became Dean of Waterford, and was consecrated bishop in 1647 of Killaloe. He was bishop from 1647-1650.

He died at Dublin, of the plague in 1650, and was buried at St. Audeon’s church.
